Moderation Management™ runs on volunteers – powered by caffeine, compassion, and the occasional dad joke. Without our crew of caring, whip-smart, and wildly resourceful humans, we simply wouldn’t exist.
“It is one of the beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.”
— Ralph Waldo EmersonTranslation: Helping others helps you. And yes, Emerson said it better.
When you volunteer with Moderation Management, you’re not just giving back, you’re plugging into a community that’s helping thousands of people create a healthier, more balanced relationship with alcohol. Plus, research (and our own experience) says that volunteering boosts your own moderation goals, adds a layer of accountability, and might even give you that elusive “sense of purpose” everyone keeps talking about.
Here are some of the roles we’re currently looking to fill. Don’t see your dream gig? Fill out the form anyway. We’re flexible, and there’s always something that needs doing.
Fundraising Creative Director
We’re seeking a Creative Director to help shape the heart of our fundraising campaigns. This volunteer will work closely with our team to craft the narrative, tone, and visual direction that will inspire our community to give back. You’ll develop key messages, themes, and story arcs that highlight the impact of Moderation Management™—and weave them into a cohesive campaign that moves people to action. If you have a knack for connecting emotion with purpose, an eye for engaging creative, and a passion for meaningful causes, this role will let you make a lasting mark on our fundraising efforts.
Kickstart Creative Director
We’re looking for a creative person to lead the storytelling and campaign vision for Moderation Management’s signature 30-day challenges. These courses help participants take a break from alcohol or set and meet moderation goals in a supportive, non-judgmental community. As our volunteer Kickstart Creative Director, you’ll develop the concepts, messaging, and visual direction that bring the challenges to life. Learn more about Kickstart.
SEO Specialist
Moderation Management™ is seeking an experienced SEO volunteer to help more people discover our programs, resources, and supportive community. You’ll assess our current website performance, identify opportunities to improve search rankings, and develop an SEO strategy that aligns with our mission and audience. This includes optimizing on-page content, improving site structure, researching relevant keywords, and advising on technical fixes to boost visibility. Your work will help ensure that individuals searching for help with moderation, mindful drinking, or alcohol-free challenges can find us easily, making a direct impact on our reach and ability to support more people.
WordPress Website Builder
Moderation Management™ is looking for a detail-oriented and creative WordPress volunteer to help bring our updated website to life. You’ll work with our team to build and customize pages, integrate new features, and ensure the site is visually engaging, user-friendly, and accessible on all devices. Experience with WordPress themes, plugins, and basic design best practices is essential, and familiarity with SEO-friendly site structure is a plus. Your work will play a key role in creating a welcoming online space where visitors can easily find information, join programs, and connect with our community.
Brand Designer
Moderation Management™ is seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer to help complete our updated brand guidelines. With our brand strategy foundation already in place, you’ll take the lead in translating it into a clear, visually engaging guide that our volunteers can easily follow. This includes finalizing color palettes, imagery styles, and usage examples, as well as creating Canva templates for common assets. Familiarity with AI prompting for design and copy generation is a plus, since many of our volunteers use AI tools in their work. Your contributions will ensure that every piece of MM content, online and offline, looks consistent, professional, and unmistakably “us.”
Please fill out the form below to become an MM volunteer! Because we are run by volunteers, it may take some time for us to get back to you. But we promise we will, and we will do our best to find the right fit for you to help create more awareness about MM and the amazing work we do here.
If you’re short on time but still want to get involved, donations are always welcome.
